A case of Striae Distensae Induced by Misuse of Corticosteroid

Abstract
A case of striae distensae associated with psoriasis in 29-year-old man is reported.
The patient developed atrophic striae on abdoman, both thigh and buttock, especially on psoriatic lesions after irregular chronic use of corticosteroid for treatment of psoriasis.
To our knowledge, atrophic striae induced by topical corticosteroid application have been reported, but it is uncommon that misuse of high potency corticosteroid resulted in significant systemic absorption to produce striae formation and rapid weight gain, as a sequela.
